Charlie founded Charles Carter Clinics in 2022 following the success of Physio Active Healthcare, which now proudly operates nine clinics across Essex, Hertfordshire, and Cambridgeshire. Prior to launching the business, he worked with elite football clubs including Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC, and Southend United, where he served as Head Academy Physiotherapist and worked directly with first-team players. These high-performance environments gave him extensive experience in managing and accelerating athletes’ return to sport following injury.
A graduate of the University of East London, Charlie also volunteered at the 2012 London Olympics. Over the years, he has treated a diverse range of elite athletes — from professional triathletes, skiers, skateboarders, and BMX riders, to a World’s Strongest Man finalist.
An accomplished athlete himself, Charlie has developed a specialist interest in sports injuries, particularly those related to cycling and running. As a qualified bike fitter, he blends clinical insight with precision fitting, offering a unique service that maximises both comfort and performance for cyclists — especially those riding with pain or recovering from injury.
Charlie also travels between clinics performing diagnostic ultrasound scans, ensuring patients receive accurate diagnoses and the most effective treatment plans from the outset. He is trained in extracorporeal shockwave therapy, often combining both technologies to enhance recovery outcomes and shorten rehab timelines.
Out of approximately 70,000 physiotherapists in the UK, Charlie is one of only 104 MedCo Accredited practitioners, underscoring his clinical expertise in managing whiplash and soft tissue injuries.

Outside of the clinic, Charlie has played semi-professional football, holds a black belt in karate, and currently competes at a high level in triathlon. He has multiple podiums, and qualified for 6 European and 5 World Championship events across Sprint, Olympic, Middle, and Long Distances, proudly representing Team GB at Age Group level.
