Michael McMahon

Michael McMahon BSc, MSc, PG Dip, is an experienced MSK clinician specialising in ultrasound-guided injection therapy. With a strong background in the NHS and elite sports, he provides expert diagnosis and treatment for athletes and individuals alike, helping them return to peak performance.

Michael has worked for the English Institute of Sport with Olympic and Paralympic athletes. He has also worked in sports such as Rugby, Gaelic football and for many years in Premiership academy football for Brentford F.C. and Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

Following completion of his BSc Hons Physiotherapy in 2005, Michael has undertaken extensive post graduate training, including in Injection Therapy in 2014 and an MSc in Advanced Practice Physiotherapy in 2017. He is one of the select few nationally to have undertaken a PG Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography combining qualifications in Diagnostic Ultrasound & US Guided Injection Therapy obtained through the University of East London.

Michael’s current role involves working alongside Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr James Bliss in his complex Knee injury Clinic at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Trust. He also provides consultancy services, ultrasound scanning and collaborates with GPs, consultants, and specialists to manage complex MSK cases.
